Foods You Should Avoid During Examination Period

3. Coffee, yes Coffee!

While a cup of coffee a day can actually be beneficial and help you stay and feel more awake, you have to know that too much coffee is certainly bad for you. During my University days, I had friends that would eat coffee raw and just rinse their mouth with water because they wanted to read. Many of them still ended up not getting good grades as those of us that did not.

Coffee does not qualify as a meal, you cannot depend solely on it for survival during exams. The caffeine present in coffee may help you stay up, focused, stay alert, but it can also trick your body into thinking its not hungry. At some point, it could make the mind to become groggy and unable to absorb the material as well.

Now look at the way you have been cheating your body now – no foods, no sleep; nature will definitely ask. This is one of the reasons some people fall sick during exams and the examinations they were actually doing everything to pass.

Lastly, too much caffeine can make you jittery, so try to only drink moderate amounts: 400 to 450 mg per day. If I were you, I would avoid coffee and take something like fruit juice or green tea.
