Foods You Should Avoid During Examination Period

4. New Foods – Don’t try them

Nobody should be telling you this but I feel students may just want to grab whatever food in their reach during exams and eat in order to avoid cooking. You don’t want to surprise yourself on the examination day with stomach troubles or any form of sickness as a result of food.

For example, we said that beans can make you fart and disturb your stomach. Even though there is a way to cook it so that it doesn’t make you fart, you may not know this if you have not been eating beans before.

Issues could also arise as a result of allergy – one can develop allergic reactions from some food and during the exam period is not the best way to find out. We published a post on allergies and which foods contain them. You can still check that out.

While doing some reading about a week ago, I saw a lot of medical recommendations that potatoes and peanut butter are good during examination. I would advise you to stay away from peanut butter if you have not been eating it before; people can be allergic to it.

With all these said, there are other things you should do while preparing for your exams. Ironically, they are things you should embrace, rather than avoid. Adequate sleep, eat fruits, rest and take a walk when your brain feels tired (don’t use coffee for that) and drink water.
